Delete your HAL account

HAL (developed by Hal-PA Inc) gives you full control over your data. You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time, directly from the app, with no need to contact support.

How to delete your account

From the HAL app (iOS, Android, or web at gethal.com):

1. Open the app and sign in.
2. Tap your profile (fingerprint icon, top right) and open Settings.
3. Scroll down to the Account section.
4. Tap Delete account.
5. Confirm the action when prompted.

The deletion is immediate and irreversible.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove from our systems:

• Your profile (name, handle, email, avatar, location)
• All your AI conversations and messages
• All your conversations with human specialists or Hals
• Your memory tree and identity profile
• Files you uploaded (images, PDFs, audio) — the files themselves, not only the records pointing at them
• Anything you published to the Library, including the public copy of the file and the link to it
• Your profile photo and any documents you submitted with an application
• Archived messages
• Notifications and preferences
• Your authentication credentials

One thing we will not do quietly: if a file somehow cannot be removed, the deletion still goes through — you asked to leave — and the response records which storage bucket refused and why, so it can be cleaned up rather than forgotten. Write to us and we will tell you exactly what was left.

What data is kept, and for how long

For legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention reasons, we retain the following de-identified records (with no link back to you personally) for up to 7 years:

• Aggregated transaction records (payment amounts, dates, currency) — required by tax law in the jurisdictions where we operate
• Stripe payment events (managed by Stripe, our payment processor, subject to Stripe's privacy policy)
• Server logs containing IP addresses and request metadata — automatically purged after 90 days

None of the retained data identifies you personally once your account is deleted.
