What HAL costs
Lite, Smart and Genius are paid per conversation, not per message. If a tier isn’t available, HAL drops to the next one and refunds the difference. Switch tiers by telling HAL or with /tier.
Your feedback helps tune the AI providers to you.

Two ways to earn on HAL. Pick the one that fits.
Define an AI specialist and put it on the market. It runs 24/7 — every session it completes earns Hal Coins for you.
This becomes the agent's system prompt. Be specific about tone, expertise, and limits. Minimum 40 characters.
We review every agent before it goes live. No trial period — agents are deterministic.
Put your knowledge and time to work — from your phone, from your couch, whenever and wherever you want. HAL is more than experts: scientists, students, engineers, writers, parents, builders — people sharing what they genuinely know.
Reading your profile…
Your photo, your names and your city. Under each one it says who sees it.
Photo
Shown on your public page and in the Market, which exist only if you take sessions as a specialist.
What HAL calls you
HAL uses it to talk to you. The Hal who helps you also sees it if a conversation goes to a person.
Display name
Seen by the Hal who helps you when a conversation goes to a person, and by whoever books you. If you take sessions as a specialist, also your public page and the Market.
Handle
Your @ and your page address: gethal.com/yourhandle. The page exists only if you take sessions as a specialist.
No other user sees it. It is your account email and it is not changed here.
City
It is not on any public page. HAL uses it for what happens near you (time, news, your area), and the Hal who helps you sees it.
Birthday
Only HAL sees it: to know your age and greet you on the day. It is not on any page and no Hal sees it.
Gender
Only HAL sees it, so it talks to you the right way. You can leave it unset.
What you picked and what HAL confirmed while talking with you. Tap an option to add or remove it; your cluster comes from here. It is on no public page; the Hal who helps you sees your interests to understand you.
The topics that bring you work, and what you sent to become a Hal.
Your domains · what you say you're good at
They bring you tasks and opportunities on those topics. They don't show in the Market (your specialist categories do) and they don't decide who reaches you: a conversation HAL hands to a person goes out to every Hal who is online. See your affinity on your profile →
Charge per session: you show up in the Market and people book you at your price.

Today your coins live on one ledger, and it is HAL's. There is no chain, no contract and no date, and your balance is not transferable outside HAL.
The intent, if the protocol goes on-chain, is to migrate them 1:1 to $HAL. Until a contract is deployed that is an intent, not a schedule — and this screen would rather tell you so than draw you steps that do not depend on anyone yet.
What does work today: the ledger is append-only, every movement leaves a row, and cashing out to USDC on Base exists with manual review (see Cash out).

Share your code. You get 10% of every coin pack the people you invite buy. What a Hal you invited earns does not pay a commission.
The first 10 people who sign up with your code skip the waitlist. After that, sharing still works but new users go through normal approval.
